The reason the US government was so bad about nuclear disasters was because the US government had a few bad accidents of its own. While the US government was not responsible for the Chernobyl disaster, it was not a very good record during nuclear accidents either, so it could be a pretty good thing that the US government had one of its own in trouble.
I’m not sure exactly how much we have to worry about the US government’s record with nuclear disasters. But the fact is that Chernobyl is a nuclear plant. In other words, the plant is a very big deal. So if you’re wondering why the US government was so bad about nuclear disasters, then you should be really interested in the fact that the US government has its own nuclear plant that went down.
I know that many people think that these nuclear plants are dangerous places, and that one of the reactors did explode. But it’s just not true. Most of them do not explode, they just blow up.
